Hardware Support

The Tech Center provides a variety of hardware services for MSB students and faculty. From rentals to online conferencing services, we are committed to catering the hardware needs of the Business School.

Hardware Support Services

Although somewhat limited, hardware support for computers is available for MSB faculty and students. Tech Center student and full-time employees may temporarily backup data on to a secure external hard drive at no cost, which is yet another way in which users may safeguard their information. Tech Center staff may also support and aid users in RAM and Hard Drive installations, as well as basic hardware maintenance.

Conferencing Services

Within the main MSB Building is a private and quiet room equipt with Teleconferencing and Internet conferencing hardware. This hardware cannot be used outside of the lab, but is available anytime during our normal hours of operation on an appointment or walk-in basis. It is recommended that you schedule an appoint by using the helpdesk to ensure that you have the equipment reserved and enjoy full technical support for it.

The internet conferencing hardware supports IP and ISDN conenctions, as well as Live Video feed. A webcam is also provided for Video conferencing.

Equipment Loans

The Tech Center also provides equipment loans for MSB faculty, student and staff. Available hardware for loaning include individual IBM laptop computers (faculty and staff only), projectors, tripods, video cameras (you must provide your own mini-DV cassettes), presentation laptops, a slide projector, a VCR, and we have one pair of speakers. We also provide a Mobile Classroom, which is a portable group of IBM laptops that may be used for computer-based courses, online exercises, and even secure online exams. Individual loaner laptops may be custom-tailored with most of the software that the borrower desires upon request. Please contact the tech center to check availability of the equipment.
