Helpdesk

Introduction

Helpdesk is the new MSBTC automated web based utility to request help. It is faster and more efficient than the traditional email help request and contains a knowledge base for better customer service.

The tutorials below will give you a quick overview on how to use the utility. For any additional questions please call the front desk

How to log in

Navigate to http://help.msb.edu
There log in with your Novell NetID and Password

How to create a new ticket

Once you have logged in select "Create New Ticket" on the top navigation bar.

A pop-up window will open. Fill out all fields that have an asterisk (*) next to it. Don't forget to give as many details as possible about your problem so that our technicians have a better idea about the problem.

After submitting the form, make sure you check your email regularly as our technicians may require additional information.

 

How to check the status of your ticket

Log in to helpdesk. On the main screen you can see any tickets opened by you. Alternatively you can search for a ticket by using the top navigation bar

In the ticket search window enter the information you have (e.g. Submitted by) and then apply the filter. The apply filter button can be found in the top right hand corner

Once you have found your ticket you can see any comments made by technicians or you plus the status of the ticket.

status

The status can be set to: Awaiting Dispatch, Assigned but not updated, Work in Progress, On Hold, Resolved or Closed.
