Wireless AccessHOYASHOYAS is the wireless network run by Univeristy Information Services (UIS) and is a campus-wide network available to students. It is also avilable inside the business school building. IMPORTANT: You must configure your computers to access the HOYAS network. Due to security reasons, your computer will not be able to automatically locate these networks. We are more than happy to setup your computers for you or you may also follow the corresponding tutorials to gain access. Extent of SupportWhile we do offer support for gaining access to the HOYAS network, we are not able to address any futher issues (such as outages). Aside from simply configuring your computer to access HOYAS, our support is limited. Should you have any further problems with the HOYAS network, please contact UIS. BlackBerry SupportThe MSBTC operates a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that enables those with Blackberry's and email-enabled devices to connect to Groupwise. You can follow the general tutorials below; however, please contact our helpdesk to obtain any necessary information to establish this connection. Some phone services require a special liscense (at a cost) before you can set up this service . Additionally, each phone model is somewhat different and may need to be configured in person by one of our support staff. Because this encompasses a wide variety of devices, there will not be individual steps listed here. However, we will post some general guidelines.
If your device allows for you to configure an email account as IMAP, use the following information (NOTE: your device may not ask for all of this information): Email address: NetID@georgetown.edu If your device does not allow for an IMAP connection but allows a POP3 connection, use the following information (NOTE: your device may not ask for all of this information): Email address: NetID@georgetown.edu If you are asked to authenticate to the Outgoing Email server, you will need your NetID as your username and your NetID password as the password. This only applies if you must enter information for the Outgoing Email Server. Again, these are just guidelines that you may use to attempt to configure the email on your device yourself.
